Developing next-generation fermentation technology for China local raw materials

Our instant dry yeast are manufactured by fermentation of agricultural feedstocks. The Laboratories are involved in research and development of Safe, Efficient and Environmentally Friendly fermentation manufacturing processes that use cutting-edge technology. The developed processes are incorporated in our plants.

Basic technology research

For innovative improvement, it is important to study the life science of fermentation microbes. To analyze complicated biological reactions producing yeast spawn from raw materials and to design and optimize the overall manufacturing system, we employ cutting-edge technologies such as molecular biology and systems biology. We are conducting basic research on the use of new microbes and new feedstock to develop next-generation fermentation techniques.

Development of environmentally friendly technologies

To establish environmentally friendly manufacturing systems, we are performing research on manufacturing process not only to increase the yield, but also to save water and energy, and to reduce greenhouse gas emission. With our manufacturing system, co-products can be utilized as a fertilizer for sugar cane and other agricultural crops, which are employed as fermentation feedstock.

Efficient use of various raw materials

Considering the diversity of agriculture around the world, we are researching processes for manufacturing molasses from different crops in each region, including sugar cane, sugar beet and corn. Agricultural circumstances are rapidly changing. Considering such changes, we aim to develop manufacturing processes that will make it possible to use various crops as raw materials efficiently and flexibly.
